If you are the person who has to make a judgment call on data — junior analyst or C-suite, same problem — you did not check most of what you are standing on.
You don't know which inputs were verified and which were vibes. Nothing in the file tells you. The confident number and the guessed number arrive in the same font, in the same row, weighted the same.
So the error doesn't announce itself. It gets averaged in, and the average looks fine.
Brain 2.0 gates the inputs. Malformed or unvetted material is excluded from the corpus rather than folded into it and quietly diluted. The ingest set is frozen and enumerable — you can list what went in, and you can list what didn't.
The moat is the gate, not the score. Anyone can copy an insight; nobody can copy a gated corpus plus a documented judgment record.
It has two hands and no pen.
Brain 2.0 can read a thing, check where it came from, and either let it through or set it aside. That is the whole job. What it cannot do is approve. A system that both checks the work and approves the work has not checked anything.
So the pen stays on the desk. Somebody with a name picks it up, and their name is on the record next to the decision.
They could not inspect every voyage, so they built a register: gate what enters the record, grade what survives the gate, and let the grade carry the price. An underwriter could then take a position on a hull he had never seen.
The same move works on ideas. An opinion built on gated inputs can be priced. An opinion built on vibes cannot — not because it is wrong, but because there is no way to say how wrong it might be.
Gating inputs costs you volume and buys you something a stranger can price.
